WoSJ Expert Comment; Dietmar Gugler

Dietmar thinks the first round in the individual final was fair. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. On the course in the first round: After the two Nations Cup rounds, I don’t think it was too big. It was technical but fair! Faults came everywhere, but especially on fence five and twelve b. But no horse was struggling out there, and it’s fair not to put Europe’s best horses in trouble. We will have an honorable champion here in Madrid.

On good rounds: Sweden had some good rounds with Rolf and Henrik being clear. I hope for Henrik; he has something to do in the medals!

On the second round: The last line is really tough!

On Corradina: She jumped good. Maybe the one down came because Carsten-Otto tightened the line a little but it’s hard to say. Sometimes you want to catch time and you think about your turn to early and that can then happen with wide oxers; the poles fall.

On the favorites: Gerco, Carsten-Otto, Rolf and Nick all look strong!
