On the first day of the Rolex FEI World Cup Final WoSJ brings you Dutch Chef d'Equipe Rob Ehren's expert comment on the final so far.
Rob on course designer Uliano Vezzani’s track on day one of the Rolex FEI World Cup Final; "It was a nice course. It was not overdone in height and spread of the fences. You could also see that on the results. You needed a good plan; at some lines you could take a turn inside, and there were also lines where you could leave out a stride if you knew your horse well and was in good control. So it was a nice fair course."
Rob on the horses and riders, and if he thinks anyone stood out today; "A lot of horses jumped really well. I think that also was because it was a nice track. Already from the beginning we saw some good rounds and that also gives the riders a good feeling. I did not see all the horses, but I must say I was happy with what I saw. It is good for the sport. When you have a good class you always have a good winner. If I look on the list I can mention Rolf - it’s amazing to look at him, you get goose bumps from when you see him go, that's fantastic. But there are plenty - it is difficult to mention any names."
Rob on how the competition will be different tomorrow; "From looking on today’s riding it will be big. All the horses jumped really well. So I think it is going to be tough tomorrow."
