Wout-Jan van der Schans and Capetown continue fantastic form in Donaueschingen

Friday, 19 September 2014

On a winning streak: Wout-Jan van der Schans and Capetown. Photo by World of Showjumping. They came straight from a Grand Prix win in Paderborn last weekend, and today Wout-Jan van der Schans and Capetown added another win to their record when they were victorious in the 1.50 class at the CSI3* show in Donaueschingen. The Dutch rider and the 11 year old gelding by Oklund x Carlino has been on tremendous form this summer, and continued to impress today at the German event.

Fifteen of the almost sixty riders made it to the jump-off in Friday's main class, were Wout-Jan was in a league of his own as he put Capetown in top gear from the very beginning racing around the shortened track that was now set with eight fences in the huge grass ring. When he crossed the finish line, Van der Schans had shaved off more than a second on Jonathan Gordon's time on Bario van't Martendonkerf (Clinton x Heartbreaker). Third place went to Katharina Offel who rode two beautiful clear rounds on Quebracho Semilly (Le Tot de Semilly x Eyken des Fontenis).
