Wout-Jan van der Schans takes the DKB-Riders Tour Grand Prix in Paderborn

Sunday, 14 September 2014

Wout-Jan and Capetown have been very consistent this season. In Paderborn they secured another win. Here seen in Falsterbo earlier this year. Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson. The fifth and penultimate leg of the 2014 DKB-Riders Tour went to Wout-Jan van der Schans and Capetown (Oklund x Carlino). The class counted 49 horse and rider combinations, and van der Schans was one out of only three riders to produce two clear rounds.

It was a fast second round in Paderborn, and the Dutch rider secured the lead with only 0,09 seconds down to runner-up Abdel Said and Dakota (Cento Lano x Intermezzo) representing Egypt. Third place went to another Dutch rider, Albert Zoer riding Abra Kadabra (Vancouver x Calvados). The fastest ride of the day was produced by Jens Fredricson and Lunatic (Landlord 849 x Utrillo), but four faults placed them fourth.

The final leg of the DKB-Riders Tour takes place in Munich in the beginning of November.
