Albert Zoer gave the home crowds yet another win in tonight’s BMC Prijs; a 1.55 class with a jump-off. The class saw only four of the 30 riders go clear, and there were a lot of faults collected around the course – six riders retired.
Penelope Leprevost was first to go on Nenuphar Jac – a SF stallion by Cumano. They set the standard with a lovely clear round. Jur Vrieling followed next, and copied Leprevost on VDL Bubalu (by Baloubet du Rouet). Both riders made it all look easy. Then followed a lot of faults, but Katie McVean on Delphi (by Leo Caylon) managed to ride a great rhythmical and balanced round –crossing the finish line on a clean sheet. Last rider to go Albert Zoer made the crowds go crazy with his clear round on Sam (by Calvados).
The jump-off was reduced to six fences, and opened for two tight turns and the rest was all gallop stretches. Penelope yet again rode a great and fast clear, and her time was 34.37. Jur followed her, and Bubalu was sky high – they couldn’t catch Leprevost though with their time of 34.79. Katie McVean had an oxer down, but last to go Albert Zoer raced around the course making a very tight turn when he landed after the second last fence and crossed the finish line on 31.92 – shaving off no less than 2,45 seconds of Leprevost’s time.
