Philippaerts and Whitaker are two famous and renowned names in the world of international showjumping. For the most part, the names are associated with longtime champions. However, the new generation of the families continues to honor their legacy. This was the case in the first class of the day at the Longines Masters, the Hong Kong Tatler Trophy.
Riding second in the class, Olivier Philippaerts and H&M Challenge vd Begijnakker Z (Chellano Z x Palestro vd Begijnakker) set the pace and established a reference time of 54,37 seconds setting a bar for the other riders to beat. The time was near impossible to catch up with, and the Belgian rider signed his first victory in the Longines Masters series here in Hong Kong. An even more enjoyable victory, as his twin brother Nicola came second on Ustina Sitte (Clinton x Parco). In third place came William Whitaker on Fento Chin S (Chin Chin x Carthago).
