Kent Farrington and Creedance (Lord Z x Notaris) continue their winning streak: On Friday they went to the top in the CSI5* Champagne Barons de Rothschild Trophy at the Longines Masters of Los Angeles.

Only four of the 31 riders made it to the jump-off in this 1.50m competition, after producing clears over the first round track and it turned into a very close race between Farrington and Jane Richard Philips from Switzerland aboard Pablo de Virton (Andiamo x Kashmir van't Schuttershof).

Against the clock, only 0.05 separated home hero Farrington and Richard Philips – leaving the American rider to celebrate yet another win together with the 9-year-old gelding Creedance. This is the couple's sixth big victory this year, as they earlier on this season brought home one CSI3* win at the Winter Equestrian Festival, two CSI4* victories from Windsor, a CSI5* Grand Prix win from St. Moritz as well as a CSI5* victory from Brussels.

Third place in the Champagne Barons de Rothschild Trophy also went to Switzerland, as Steve Guerdat and the amazing mare Bianca (Balou du Rouet x Cardento) finished the jump-off clear but more than two seconds behind Farrington. Italy's Emanuele Gaudiano, winner of the opening CSI5* competition on Thursday, finished fourth.
