Hey everyone!

My name is Madelen and I am the groom of the Swedish rider Douglas Lindelöw and this week I will be your guest blogger straight from Falsterbo. As a Swede working for a Swedish rider this is one of the most important weeks of the year. My absolute favorite moment working as a groom was last year when Douglas and Casello jumped a clear round in the Nations Cup here and the crowd went completely mental and they played the silliest song ever in the speakers and I used to hate that song but now it always brings a smile to my face.

The weather forecast looks disappointing I have to say, the heatwave we suffered from last week is gone and it really is as they say ”the Swedish summer is the best week of the whole year”. Now we are back to the good old sun, storm, rain, storm, sun, rain, more rain, sun, a little bit of both at the same time and then only rain. And storm off course. The positive thing is that the black sand that is everywhere won’t be so dusty from all the rain that you MIGHT have a chance to get yourself, your horses and your stuff clean before you come back here next year.

Even though Falsterbo is a lovely show with a beautiful grass arena, a massive exhibition and a lot for everyone to do all my foreign friends always talks about the parties. And as the responsible/boring groom I am I have not attended a lot of them but the few I have been to has been unforgettable. So if you have a combined interest of horses and partying and hate to sleep you should pay Falsterbo a visit. And remember: What happens in Falsterbo, stays in Falsterbo! Except for the black sand off course. That will stick with you for a long long time.

Today was vetcheck-day and we nailed it! Always nice with a good start. With me here this week is Casello, Udermus and Balous Lady. Thursday we start of early with a warm up-class at 9 o’clock with 2 horses so the alarm is set on a quite unholy hour for a nightbird as myself.

Good night everybody!
