OMG what a day!
There will be lots of pictures attached as I'm not really able to write. But still able to walk so I'm going better as 90% of the others.
The day started already spectacular with Cheese going clear in the youngster class, but having a unlucky fence down in the jump-off with the fastest time. He also brought the Investec zebra out for sightseeing!
Then the pressure was on! Romanov was first to go so instead of feeding him an energy booster we used him for the parade; saved 10€:-) We kidded all our ponies out with plenty of lucky charms just to be sure, but unfortunately Romanov had very unlucky vertical down in the first round. But all the other team riders did a very good job jumping clear rounds, so we went in the second round as leader on zero score!
And then the greatest thing ever happend with Romanov jumping a fabulous clear round! He gave everything, so did Bertram - I think you could hear the crowd roaring in the whole Ireland, such an atmosphere!
So it was easy enough to find out without a screen on the small warm up that Greg was clear as well... They are just amazing, what a team!
Major problems coming up when Romanov refused eating Polo mints, but he had to get something as he jumped a fantastic clear round so we went back to stables to put loads of carrots and apples into his mouth.
With lots of counting on the live scores and Hannah Colman screaming well done we found out that we won! And everyone was over the moon!
OMG; then you go into the prize giving and thousands of people are singing the Amhrán na bhFiann the national anthem! To stand in the middle of this amazing huge ring with that crowd is just wow! As Bertram said; a dream comes true!
Well after overspoiling and pampering the ginger ninja it was time to hit the pups... Hmmm, to make long story short - what happens in Dublin stays in Dublin!
