Dimitrie Dimitrie (Clarimo Ask x Corrado II) is for sale at the auction as collection number 3.

Duyselshof, the stud owned by Wim van der Leegte of the multinational VDL Groep company, and employer of Leopold van Asten, comes up with a new project: an online auction with competition horses.

It is the year 2000 and Wim van der Leegte buys Stoeterij Duyselshof. Wim hires Leopold van Asten as his rider and the stable quickly develops… One day we invested in a really good mare, but unfortunately, she got injured when we jumped her for the third time. Since she was so expensive, we decided to use her as a broodmare. Before I knew it we were breeding with 20 top-class mares. As a consequence, the training stable of Duyselshof Stud, that was added to the company later on, counted 70 horses in no time.

Van der Leegte explains:  “If you produce horses at that rate, you also need to sell once in a while, it is as simple as that. When we breed 20 horses every year only a few fit for Leopold, Maikel van der Vleuten or Lisa Nooren, but the rest we need to sell. “

The online auction offers 23 horses for sale that are all very well bred and trained. The collection consists of a lot of different horses: from a 3-year-old exceptionally bred mare to the 12-year-old Aristo Z, who already competed at 1m45 level with Maikel van der Vleuten, and everything in between..

This auction gives everybody an equal opportunity to bid on a proven showjumper. The bidding on almost all the horses in the collection starts at 5.000 euro already!

Does that mean that people can buy a well bred and trained horse for 5.000 euro? “We are confident to let the market do its work,” Wim ensures us. People who aren’t sure if the horses suit their budget are more than welcome to call stable manager Wiebe van der Kleij.

Duyselshof’s staff can tell interested people exactly what the qualities of the horses are. Stable manager Wiebe van der Kleij adds: “These are all horses that can make someone happy. The buyers will vary, because every horse suits a specific type of rider. We will be very open in our communication and we will give tailored advise. Of course the horses can be tried out. People can buy a really nice competition horse in this auction: they are ready to compete!”

Want to know more about their collection? Visit www.duyselshof.auction or call Wiebe van der Kleij (+31 (0)6 53 24 60 23). Biddings and Tryouts are possible from 17 November 2017 until 28 November 2017
