Alongside the Longines Masters of Hong Kong, now in its 6th edition, EEM launches the first edition of the Asian Horse Week, from February 8th to 11th 2018. Introducing the NEW Asian annual rendezvous of the equestrian community, Christophe Ameeuw, CEO of EEM a,d Founder of the Longines Masters Series Paris – Hong Kong – New York, and his team’s ambition is to create a unique networking platform to share knowledge, expertise and craft business opportunities between growing markets in Asia and the rest of the world. While Season III of the Series will kick off in Paris on November 30th, all eyes are already on the Asian stage as EEM pursues its goal to establish Hong Kong as the equestrian capital of Asia and introduce new audiences to the equestrian world.

Driven by the continuous desire to develop the industry in the Asia-Pacific region, Christophe Ameeuw and the EEM teams have set themselves a new challenge: to establish the first concept of the annual meeting point for the international equestrian community in Asia, the Asia Horse Week. “We want to create an event where the entire equestrian culture and all horse-related professions and sports are represented,” explains Christophe Ameeuw.  “All disciplines will be represented and the public will be able to enjoy the best equestrian sporting event in Asia and get together and exchange views with other enthusiasts”.

For the first edition of the Asia Horse Week, around forty institutional, business and key players of the equestrian community will come together at the heart of the Prestige Village of the Longines Masters of Hong Kong to share knowledge and present activities through conference “talks” on the most sought-after topics of the equine industry. Aimed to create a meeting point between the offer and the demand of Asia’s rapidly growing market, the Asia Horse Week is also designed to raise awareness among visitors of the challenges of developing equestrian sports in Asia. A highly ambitious project which strives to seamlessly integrate Asian equestrian culture and the commercial crossroads represented by Hong Kong, the event plans to rapidly expand in future editions.

Christophe Ameeuw holds high hopes in this regard: “For the 2018 edition, we bring together the presidents of the main European, North American and Asian equestrian federations for the first time in history, as well as owners of equestrian clubs and key players in the industry in Asia”. Feedback is already very positive at this stage, as several federations have confirmed their participation and equestrian exhibitors expressing genuine interest, demonstrating the need for such an event in Asia.

With the Asia Horse Week, the Longines Masters of Hong Kong 2018 builds a platform to share know-how, expertise and opportunities between Asia, Europe and the Americas under one roof. Through conferences, pop-up stores, workshops, exhibition booths and a cocktail reception, the venue will boost public-private cooperation and interaction to help create and capitalize on the synergies of the Longines Masters of Hong Kong, and reinforce the attractiveness for visitors from the Asia Pacific region.

Therefore, the event will be one of the keys to help grow equestrianism in the region and has a long goal to offer a broader sporting, cultural and educational event to its 30,000 expected visitors. The Asia Horse Week is set to become the international rendezvous of the horse community and predestined Hong Kong to become the Equestrian Capital of Asia.
