Emma Augier de Moussac was on top form during last weekend's Brussels Stephex Masters and went home with impressive three wins on three different horses. The 26-year-old Czech rider has in general produced good results over the last years and she was a part of the Czech teams that won the Nations Cup in Budapest in 2014 and in Linz in 2015.  Emma also competed in the Furusiyya Final in Barcelona in 2015 and she competed at the World Equestrian Games in Normandy in 2014. Emma runs EAM Sporthorses in Weert and her horses are stabled at Vincent Voorn’s Golden Dream Stables Training.

In 2014 Emma went to her first Dutch Sport Horse Sales auction, an event that happened a bit by accident; “That is actually kind of a funny story,” Emma explains. “The day of the auction in 2014 my car broke down and I was very frustrated. I was not at all in the mood to ride my horses. Vincent called me and said I had to come to the auction because they had nice horses. So I went and Brighton Bay (by Ultimo - previously called Fulltime Fortuna) came along. I didn’t know Brighton before the auction but immediately knew he was a special one. We had to purchase him.”

Brighton Bay was a lucky coincidence. The combination has been successful ever since. For example, they were victorious multiple times during CSI Valkenswaard in May and July this year in the six-year-old classes. "Brighton is very mature for his age, even though he is still quite young. He hardly makes any mistakes. That is so impressive! When he enters the ring, he is on a mission. Brighton is very brave and when I enter a spooky ring, he never even looks. When I go fast in the jump-off he naturally backs me up, I can really trust him. He is extremely smart and easy to ride, those are his biggest qualities,” Emma explaines.

Emma has big plans for Brighton Bay. “I am going to try to bring him to Lanaken, after that we will go easy until the Sunshine Tour. He has the potential to compete on the highest level. He is full of scope and cool-headed, which are huge qualities for big competitions.”

”I would definitely recommend the Dutch Sport Horse Sales also to other riders”, Emma confirms. ”The collection exists of a vast variety of talented horses. They have hunters and jumpers; there is a little bit of everything. Many horses sold via the Dutch Sport Horse Sales compete at high level, which is a reassuring thing to know when you want to buy a horse in the auction. One of the main qualities of the auction is that the selection commission has an eye for top horses. All the horses sold via the auction are super jumpers, like Fame DVL for example, he is a fantastic jumper. I am looking forward to see which horses are part of the collection this year, I would definitely buy a horse from the Dutch Sport Horse Sales again.”
