Top teams participating in the FEI Nations Cup leg is the foundations for the organizers behind the new international horse show in Denmark, Equitour Aalborg, to create an event for the whole family with topsport, entertainment for the kids and a large koncert with some of Denmarks most popular artists.

Everything is coming together at Helgstrand Academy in the small village of Uggerhalne north of Aalborg, Denmark, where a brand new venue for international topsport is being build. The organizers behind Equitour Aalborg, Andreas Helgstrand and Jens Trabjerg, wants to create one of the most attractive legs in the FEI Nations Cup series for the riders as well as the audience.

“We are aiming at making this the best outdoor horse show ever in Denmark”, says organizer Andreas Helgstrand, who at the moment is working on getting everything in place at Helgstrand Academy before the 1st of june.

“We really hope, people will give it a chance and come by and see the venue. We are doing everything, we can, to make this a fantastic event for the whole family with tivoli, auction and concert. We want everybody to have that feeling of festival, fun and sport and hope to be able to create just that”.

Amazing Nations Cup line up

“The FEI Nations Cup is thrilling to watch each time and to follow over the season because it is a team competition. You can relate to the Nations Cup because it is pretty much like a national match between countries in any other sport, and it means a lot for the riders to represent their country,” says organizer and former nations team rider Jens Trabjerg.

“The fight for your team and your country also adds a special atmosphere around each event, because you cheer for your country, and the riders tends to get hooked on the team-spirit.”

Among the 13 entered Nations Cup teams at the CSIO3* in Denmark, more than half of the teams are from Europe Division 1. They are not able to obtain points but will for sure accelerate the expectations for brilliant sport in the 4th leg of the season in Europe Division 2.

The entries received are from The Netherlands (ED1), Germany (ED1), Sweden (ED1), Italy (ED1), Ireland (ED1), Spain (ED1), France (ED1), Belgium (ED2), Great Britain (ED2), Norway (ED2), Finland (ED2), Portugal (ED2), and of course the host nation, Denmark (ED2).

“We are very excited that these 13 nations have decided to join our leg of the FEI Nations Cup. And I am sure they will bring us amazing sport and a thrilling competition on Saturday afternoon,” Jens Trabjerg says.

Equitour Aalborg is inspired by the international horse show “Horses and Dreams”, which takes place every year at Hof Kasselmann in Hagen, Germany.

“They have created a fantastic cozy and familiar atmosphere, which we hope to be able to bring to our event as well. The venue is small with short distances to everything, we have dressage and jumping, something for the kids - especially our big “Kids festival” on the 3rd, so our intentions are, that you get a feeling of being at someones home loaded with the danish ‘hygge’”, Andreas Helgstrand says.
