Finland’s leading rider Anna-Julia Kontio has announced that she puts her jumping career on hold.

Kontio, who has had her base in Switzerland, is currently ranked 93 in the world. This season she has recorded several international top three finishes, and also won the CSI3* Grand Prix of Selva di Val Gardena in July with Pacific des Essarts.

Today, Kontio announced on her Facebook page that she due to a change in her life situation has decided to move from Switzerland and put her riding career on hold – which means she will miss out on an appearance on home soil for the 2016-edition of the Helsinki Horse Show. “With sad feelings I have to announce that I have left Switzerland and quit riding,” the Finnish rider writes.
