Katharina Offel’s top horse Charlie has been sold to the US. The 12-year-old gelding by Cornet Obolensky x Potsdam has been with Offel since he was a 6-year-old, and she produced him to the highest level of the sport.

On her website, Offel writes; “I have had Charlie since he was a 6-year-old, and during my entire career I have never had a horse for as long as I had him. I am very happy he found a good home and rider, where I am sure he will be loved and very well taken care of. At the same time, I am of course very sad that he leaves me – Charlie is my friend and it will be very empty without him in the stables.”

“I would like to thank Axel Verlooy and Geir Gulliksen that both made sure that we could give Charlie a loving new home and gave me time when I was under pressure to send him back to his previous owner. I am grateful that Axel and Geir helped me to give Charlie the future he deserves,” Kathi continues. “One day, I hope Charlie can come back and enjoy his retirement with me.”

With Charlie, Offel competed at the 2014 World Championships in Normandy. In 2014 Charlie and Offel also ended 2nd in the CSI5* Longines Grand Prix in Hong Kong. The pair has numerous wins and podium finishes together, all the way up to five-star level.
