The talented Dutch rider Jesper Romp takes another step in his showjumping career. After working 3.5 years for Ben, Wim and Gerco Schröder’s BWG Stables, Jesper Romp will join his father Bert and brother Ruben Romp at the Margaretha Hoeve of Eric Berkhof. The 21-year-old rider will now be part of the successful Audi Team.

“I was approached by Eric Berkhof if I wanted to ride alongside my brother Ruben,” Jesper Romp explains to World of Showjumping. “After discussing this with the Schröder brothers I decided to take this step. For me it is obviously very nice to work together with my father and brother again. That also helped in making this decision,” Jesper states. The Olympic showjumper Bert Romp works as the head trainer at the Margaretha Hoeve, while Ruben Romp – former rider at Jos Lansink’s stables – is the number one rider of the Audi Team.

Jesper Romp has had many successes at the BWG Stables the past 3.5 years. One of the highlights was winning the CSI3* Grand Prix of Jumping De Driehoek in Ommen with the sadly passed away Balouska (Stakkato Gold x Pluspunkt). Jesper Romp has been producing many young horses up to international level and competed a great number of horses at international level over the last years.
