After a long and successful career, the now 18-year-old Louis 162 (Lord Pezi x Ultraschall) has been retired.

Louis 162 got his international breakthrough with Beat Mändli in the saddle, winning the World Cup in Lyon in 2009, as well as the CSI4* Grand Prix of Porto that same year. The two had lots of success together, and went on to compete on the Swiss team at the European Championships in 2011 where they finished 10th indovodually before they won the CSI4* Grand Prix in Wien later in the year. In 2013, they won the CSI3* Grand Prix in Treffen before Jessica Kürten took over the reins for a short period in 2014. Since the autumn 2014, Louis 162 has been successfully competed by Annina Züger who also accompanied him to his retirement ceremony.

Louis will now spend his retirement in the fields of his owners Imelda and Paul Bücheler.
