Next Friday, the 2015 Rolex IJRC Top 10 Final takes place in Geneva. In our count down towards the final, WoSJ presents each of the riders in it – this time we focus in on Simon Delestre.

***

Name: Simon Delestre

Born: 21.6.1981

Represents: France

Number on world ranking: 4 (ranking no. 179)

2015 highlights: Simon Delestre started his outdoor season with a bang this year, when winning the Longines Global Champions Tour of Antwerp on Ryan des Hayettes. On the same horse, Simon was also third in the Rolex Grand Prix of Aachen - considered by many the most prestigious Grand Prix in the world. When the two returned to Aachen for the European Championships in August, they were again on the podium taking the individual bronze medal. He has also taken some big wins on Chesall this season, in Wiesbaden, Brussels, Rome and Madrid. With Qlassic Bois Margot, Simon was 2nd in the World Cup in Oslo while in Verona he won with Ryan des Hayettes - taking his top form indoors too.

Championship record: A team silver medal from the 2014 World Championships in Normandy, and an individual bronze from the European Championships this year.
