Barnike and Bertram Allen do it again at the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Last year Bertram Allen won the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship for 6 year olds with Barnike (Baldwin B x Animo). This year the young couple repeated their win in Lanaken, taking home the championship final for 7 year old horses after two convincing clear rounds - also the only double clear round of the final.

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.It was quite a debut for Christian Ahlmann and Hui Buh in Sunday's final of the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship for 6 year olds. Christian bought the gelding by Cornado I x Paramo K from Westfahlen two weeks ago, and made his show debut with the horse at the championship in Lanaken. After making a double clear round in the final, and finishing the jump-off track in 33,45 seconds no one could beat the couple that were flying the Zangersheide-colors with style.

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Sunday's final of the FEI World Breeding Jumping Championship for 5 year olds was a fast affair. In a jump-off that turned into a race against the clock, Maikel van Mierlo made it to the top of the podium with the KWPN gelding Earley (Harley VDL x Indorado). Most of the 5 year olds looked amazingly fresh after a long week with competing in Lanaken, and as many as 13 of them made it to the jump-off.

Giles Dunon ended up as the winner riding Fou De Toi vd Keihoeve (Toulon x Melkior du Montois). The championship goes over four days with three days of jumping and today on the final day the riders had to jump two rounds.

Fantomas de Muze wins the FEI Zangersheide Sires of the World

Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Karline de Brabander and Fantomas de Muze (Sandro Boy x For Pleasure) won the 1,50 m FEI Zangersheide Sires of the World in Lanaken after an exciting jump-off on Saturday. 49 stallions took part in the prestigious class, but only 11 of them made it back for the jump-off. The faults kept coming against the clock as well, and it was only the top four that delivered a double clear round.

Luka Zaloznik claims gold at the FEI Balkan Jumping Championships

Photo (c) Alexis Vassilopoulos/FEI.Slovenia's 30-year-old Luka Zaloznik steered Eloise du Petit Vivier (Non Stop x Éclair Des Bois) to clinch the senior individual gold at the FEI Balkan Jumping Championships 2014 last weekend. The event took place at Konjicki Klub Karoca in Zagreb, Croatia. Zaloznik pinned Turkey's Cagri Basel and Chaccomo (Chacco-Blue x Contender) into silver medal spot on the final day of the championships, while Croatia's Janka Krasovec and Chicofino (Colman x Cascavelle) took individual bronze.

Gold to Robert Murphy, Amalie Hegre and Irma Karlsson at the European Championships in Arezzo

arezzoThe Swedish rider Irma Karlsson won the European Championship for young riders in Arezzo riding Cornet (Cornet Obolensky x Caletto I). Karlsson ended on a total score of 5,24 penalties while the silver medalist - Germany's Kaya Lüthi with Pret A Tout (Hiram Chambertin x Stew Boy) - ended on 7,78 penalties. The bronze medal went to Laura Klaphake, also from Germany, riding Nifrane de Kreisker (Carnute x Papillion Rouge).

 

Austria wins the European Championships for children

arezzoJessica Vonach with Withny (Hemmingway x Boreas), Stella Egger with Candyman (Caretello B x Grundyman), Sebastian Gorton-Hülgerth with Estoril (Enanco S x Animo) and Dominik Juffinger with Copido (Co-Pilot x Pluspunkt) were all on the winning Austrian team at the European Championships for children in Arezzo. The Austrian team ended the three rounds with an impressive clean sheet.

Gold for the British junior team at the European Championships in Arezzo

arezzoAfter ending the two rounds on a total of four penalties the British team took the gold medal at the European Championships for juniors in Arezzo. The team consisted of Jake Saywell with Grand Cru van Paemel (Cicero x Silvio), Christie Pritchard with Waldemar (Calvados x Lux), Millie Allen with Cantino (Canturo x Libertino I) and Jessica Mendoza with Spirit T (Tornado x Carnaval Drum). Both Jake and Jessica managed to produce a double clear round.

Team gold for Germany at the European Championships for Young Riders

The squad that went to the top in Arezzo consisted of Angelina Herröder with ABC Trixi (Quidam de Revel x Carolus), Maurice Tebbel with Cooper 75 (Colman x Limbus), Niklas Krieg with Carella 5 (Clearway x Concerto II) and Laura Klaphake with Nifrane de Kreisker (Carnute x Papillon Rouge).
