Germany’s Andreas Brenner, Henrik Griese, Thorsten Wittenberg and Jan Wernke won the thrilling competition of two rounds, taking the lead by four penalty points ahead of Denmark and Austria.

Only the senior of the class, former Olympic silver medallist and World Cup Final winner Thomas Frühmann managed to ride a double clear round aboard his 16-year-old Westphalian gelding, The Sixth Sense. Hungary was only two penalties from the top three but the national team of Sándor Szász, Ákos Petheő, Gyula Szuhai and László Tóth was unable to repeat the first rounds performance, finishing eighth.
