Next week it is time for CHIO Aachen, and the fifth leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup. Four teams - Germany, France, Ireland and the Netherlands - will compete for points. Belgium, Saudi Arabia, Great Britain and Switzerland will also participate with teams in the Nations Cup.

Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Spain will be fighting for points, while Belgium, France, Great Britain and the US will give them a tough competition.
On the riders list is riders such as Beezie Madden, Steve Guerdat, Gerco Schröder, Christian Ahlmann, Marcus Ehning, Marc Houtzager, Edwina Tops-Alexander, Kevin Staut, Ludger Beerbaum, Roger Yves Bost, Janika Sprunger and Laura Kraut.
Belgium still in the lead of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Europe Division 2
Belgium still tops the standings in Europe Division 2 of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping 2013 series. With 321 points collected at four events, the Belgians are a little ahead of yesterday’s winners Sweden at 320 points. Norway follows as number three with 273 points, while Denmark is number four with 212.5 points.
Sweden wins the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ in Sopot

Belgium ended second, and Hungary third. Clear rounds from all four Swedish riders in round one put the team a little ahead of Holland at one single penalty before round two. Jens Fredricson on Lunatic¨(Landlord x Utrillo), Malin Baryard-Johnsson on Baltimore (Balou du Rouet x Landor S), Emma Emanuelson on Titan (Camaro M x Cardento) and Peder Fredricson on H&M Cash In (Cash and Carry x Corofino I) all left the course with the fences intact to take the lead in round one. When Malin Baryard-Johnsson and Emma Emanuelsson produced two of the three double-clears of the day for Sweden in the second round, anchorman Peder Fredricson did not even have to jump and the team ended on top with a total score of eight penalties.
The FEI Jumping Committee rules the German team eligible for Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ points
The FEI Jumping Committee has ruled that the German team, which was withdrawn from the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ leg in St Gallen (SUI) on 31 May, will be allowed to participate in its remaining three Nations Cup qualifying competitions and earn points towards the 2013 Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Final. The German team will not be awarded any points from St Gallen and a further request from the German National Federation for a wild card for the Final in Barcelona has been turned down.

The Furusiyya Rider of the Day award is presented to the horse & rider combination that is judged to have best displayed qualities such as harmony, partnership, balance and skill throughout their two rounds; values represented and embodied by Furusiyya.

Photo © Spruce Meadows Media Services.On a day when four double-clear performances were registered, it was the clean sheet maintained by Cameron Hanley that stood out above all others as he clinched victory for Ireland in the eleventh leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping 2013 series at Spruce Meadows in Calgary, Canada. The anchorman of the Irish side has been to hell and back over the last two years, with his health, and his career, seriously compromised by a freak injury. But today he copper-fastened his return to the top of the sport as he, and his fellow-countrymen, flexed their not-inconsiderable muscle to keep crack sides from the USA and Canada in check.
The starting order for the Nations Cup at Spruce Meadows
The starting order for Thursday's Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup at Spruce Meadows, Canada will be as follows: 1.Canada Two, 2. USA Stars, 3. Canada One, 4. USA Stripes, 5. Mexico Team 1 Azteca, 6. Mexico Team 2 Maya, 7. Ireland.
USA, Mexico and Canada are competing with two teams each, but only one team from each of theese countries can collect points. Irealand is not competing for points.
The overall standing for the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Europe Division 2
Belgium has taken over the lead of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup Europe division 2 after the fifth leg in Lisbon. Sweden has been pushed down to second position and Norway to third. The top three teams have all collected points at three legs while Denmark is on fourth place and has only collected points from two legs so far.

The Belgian team cruised to victory at the tenth leg of the Furusiyya FEI Nations Cup™ Jumping 2013 series in Lisbon, Portugal tonight and grabbed the lead at the top of the Europe Division 2 league table. Helped by double-clears from both Pieter Devos and Judy Ann Melchior, they left the rest trailing in their wake when finishing with just four faults on the board, while second-placed Great Britain finished a full 18 faults behind with 22, and Brazil and Ireland shared third spot when posting 24 faults apiece.
