Olympic silver medalist London seized
London seen at the Olympic Games. Photo by © 2012 Ken Braddick/dressage-news.com.Gerco Schröder’s Olympic ride London with whom he just won two Olympic silver medals, has according to several websites been seized right after the Olympic triumphs. This action has supposedly been made due to big financial problems for the former owners of the stallion, the company Eurocommerce. Apparently other Eurocommerce horses have also been seized together with London. Earlier this year several of the horses owned by Eurocommerce, including London, were sold to a company called Gevi International B.V. This company is owned by Ger Visser jr. who is the son of Ger Visser, the owner of Eurocommerce. The bankruptcy trustee is apparently now investigating these transactions, and the seizure has been taken to make sure the horses are not sold before a final decision has been made from the authorities in Holland concerning the transfer between the companies.

Some last snapshots from London
Rolf still rank one on the Rolex Ranking
Rolf is still number one in the world! Photo by Jenny Abrahamsson.Rolf-Göran Bengtsson was hugely disappointed yesterday when he had to withdraw from the final in London, but he might feel better today as he is still ranked as number one in the world! This is the 8th month in a row that the Swedish rider tops the world ranking. From rank two to ten there are changes; Nick Skelton has jumped from rank five to two, while Steve Guerdat is up from eight to three. Pius Schwizer is down one rank from three to four, while Christian Ahlmann has made a huge jump from rank 16 to rank five! Kevin is down from rank two to six, while Marcus Ehning stays at rank seven. Eric Lamaze is down from three to eight. Beezie Madden is another rider that has climbed; from 13 to nine pushing Edwina Tops-Alexander out – while Marco Kutscher has fallen from six to ten, a rank previously held by Ludger Beerbaum.
Congratulations Steve and Nino!
Got to love it: This is how an Olympic Champion thanks his horse!

Equine Canada with clarification on the statement regarding the disqualification of Victor
Equine Canada states that they "fully stands behind and supports our athlete Tiffany Foster".Equine Canada has issued the following further statements regarding the International Equestrian Federation's (FEI) hypersensitivity testing protocol, follwing the one made yesterday:
"Equine Canada agrees that the FEI's hypersensitivity protocol is in place to protect the welfare of the horse and the fairness of our sport," states Mr. Gallagher.
"Victor sustained a superficial cut on the front of the left front coronary band," states Canadian Olympic Team Veterinarian for Jumping Dr. Sylvie Surprenant. "In our opinion the horse was fit to compete as he showed no signs of lameness. However the FEI hypersensitivity protocol is such that if the horse is sensitive to the touch, regardless of the cause, the horse is disqualified. While the FEI rules for the hypersensitivity protocol were followed, we believe that there should be a review of this protocol." [Continues below]
Quotes from the Olympic medalists in London
The happy medalists - Gerco Schröder, Steve Guerdat and Cian O'Connor."The World Cup Final was an important step to this medal, because he proved there that I could ride him here. That way I could give him a break and he has now only been doing four shows before the Olympics. I always said that I wanted a medal. I knew I had a horse that could jump everything and I knew that if I rode good I could be a medal winner," said Steve Guerdat happy with his medal around his neck.
