Nick's awards included the riders’ rider of the year gong, international combination of the year (with Big Star) and BS members’ personality of the year in addition to an award for outstanding achievement and services to showjumping. According to horseandhound.co.uk Nick was in Rio during the ball and could not be there, but had pre-filmed acceptance speeches.
Other riders, owners and showjumping contributors were also awarded at the ball: Ben Maher won the Breeders' award with Tripple X III, while the award for outstanding achievement and services to showjumping also went to Scott Brash, Peter Charles, Ben Maher, Lord and Lady Harris, Lord and Lady Kirkham, Tara Charles, Olga White, Emma and Mike Phillips, Beverley Widdowson, Rob Hoekstra and Di Lampard
