Belgium's Jos Verlooy and the 13-year-old FTS Killossery Konfusion (SIEC Livello x Crusing) took Friday's biggest win at Jumping International Bourg-en-Bresse in France. With a time of 35.33, the two were the quickest in a jump-off between 15 horse-and-rider-combinations in the 1.50m Grand Bourg Agglomération.

"I thought it was tough enough today," Verlooy told World of Showjumping after his victory. "Everything comes fast in this ring. I must say my horse did a super job! I did my own jump-off, I was already number two to go, so I did my own round. I knew my horse is naturally fast, and that if everything went to plan, I could be close to winning. I am very happy! I did two weeks in St. Tropez and this is my third show since I am back [from injury].

Ireland's Mark McAuley and Jasco vd Bisschop (Dulf vd Bisschop x Krunch de Breve) took the runner-up position with a time of 35.97, while Megane Moissonier and Bracadabra (Pacific des Essarts x Couleur Rubin) were the best of the hosts when placing third in 36.18. Belgium's Rik Hemeryck and Navarro van het Eelshof (Jappeloup vh Dauwhof x Poleander) finished fourth in. 36.96, followed by Greece's Ioli Mytilineou aboard L'Artiste de Toxandria (Toulon x Kashmir van Schuttershof) in fifth in 37.85.
