Edited press release from Hubside Jumping
Saturday’s first class at the Hubside Spring Tour in Grimaud, France, was a 1.50m against the clock won by Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) and the 8-year-old gelding Citadin du Chatellier (l’Arc de Triomphe*Bois Margot x Diamant de Semilly).
“The 1.50m class this morning was Citadin’s first at this level, and I’m very happy with the result,” Delmotte said after his win. “At the beginning of the year he already won a class counting for the Longines Ranking in Oliva. He is naturally a very fast horse and started to be competitive from the age of seven and eight. He’s got a lot of quality and I think it is his natural speed that saved us some time this morning.”
Delmotte was about 1.5 second faster than his compatriot Julien Epaillard (FRA) with Usual Suspect d’Auge (Jarnac x Papillon Rouge), who was followed by Scott Brash (GBR) with Hello Shelby (Stolzenberg x For Pleasure) in third, Simon Delestre (FRA) with Varennes du Breuil (Jarnac x Fetiche du Pas) in fourth and Gregory Wathelet (BEL) with Indago (Concorde x Nimmerdor) in fifth.
Later in the day, Alexa Ferrer (FRA) and Encantado C’SG (Verdi TN x Zeus) won the CSI4* 1.45m Longines Ranking class with a jump-off ahead of Scott Brash (GBR) with Hello Mr President (Comme d’Api v/d Hacienda Z x breeding unknown) and Max Kühner (AUT) with Vancouver Dreams (Valentino x Stakkato).
