European Champions Peder Fredricson (SWE) and H&M All In (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Andiamo Z) delivered on home soil in Stockholm, and won the CSI4* 1.50m Volkswagen Cup on Saturday evening.

The course built by Peter Lundström (SWE) challenged the riders with a lot of choices. It was a real speed class, with plenty of options for short turns. The audience of 11,000 at Sweden International Horse Show created a fantastic atmosphere as the riders went all in against the clock.

It was Fredricson’s stable jockey Stephanie Holmén (SWE) and 11-year-old Flip’s Little Sparrow (Cardento 933 x Robin Z 723) that were to set the pace straight away as start number three with a clear and really fast round, stopping the clock at 59.87 seconds.

It was not until Fredricson himself entered the ring that someone challenged Holmén’s time, and the home hero crossed the finish line in 57.28 seconds to take home the win.

“When I went in I knew Stephi was in the lead, and I’m very happy with her performance and proud about our stable and team. Everything felt very good, H&M All In was focused on the course,” said Peder Fredricson.

Stephanie Holmén was happy being second after her boss. “The first thing I said to Peder when he came out from the ring was ‘now you snatched my first car right in front of me’, but if there is someone that it is okay to be beaten by it's Peder,” she said.

With this win Peder got a brand-new Volkswagen to take home and he also put himself in a confident lead for the meeting prize, which is yet another Volkswagen car.

Third place in the class went to Harrie Smolders (NED) on Cas 2 (Indoctro x Numero Uno) with a time of 61.65 seconds.
