St Tropez Pirates win the GCL of Valkenswaard

As the only team to finish on four penalties, St Tropez Pirates – with Marlon Zanotelli (BRA) aboard Cornest (Balou de Reventon x Stakkatol) and Simon Delestre (FRA) aboard Dexter Fontenis Z (Diarado x Voltaire) as part of the team in round one, then Michael Pender (IRL) on HHS Catwalk (Cit Cat x Clover Echo) and Simon Delestre riding I Amelusina R 51 (Dexter R x Chin Chin) in round two – won the 13th leg of the Global Champions League's 2023-season at Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard, the Netherlands. 

Current world number one Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Richard Howley (IRL) finished second for the Scandinavian Vikings on eight faults, while the consistent Paris Panthers collected yet another podium finish with a third place from Ben Maher (GBR) and Harrie Smolders (NED) – also they on a score of eight.

"I think we have a fantastic team with Athina Onassis behind us and a team that always tries to fight together for the best result," St Tropez Pirates' Simon Delestre said after their victory. 

On the overall GCL ranking of the season, Riesenbeck International powered by Kingsland leads the way with 294 points, followed by Paris Panthers in second with 274, Madrid in Motion in third with 234 and St Tropez Pirates in fourth with 225.
