Last minute changes on the German team before the showjumping starts in Rio in a few hours: Marcus Ehning and Cornado NRW will be replaced by reserve combination Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Fibonacci.

An official statement from the German Equestrian Federation says that the stallion probably must have stumbled after Saturday’s warm-up session in Rio. "After consultation with our team veterinarian Jan Hein Swagemakers we have decided that the risk of using Cornado NRW is too big," comments German Chef d’Equipe Otto Becker on the German Equestrian Federation’s website.
