Ireland's Conor Swail – currently 10th on the world ranking – and his 11-year-old gelding Theo 160 (Christian 25 x Calando IV) took Thursday's biggest win at a rainy and wet CSI5* Jumping International Dinard in France. Due to the weather conditions, the first five-star class of the event was moved from the grass arena to the sand ring.

With a time of 36.09 in phase two, Swail and Theo 160 topped the CSI5* 1.45m Prix du Conseil Departemental d'Ille & Vilaine – snatching the win as second last to go by 0.83 seconds from the host nation's own Edward Levy (FRA) and Vitot du Chateau (Toulon x Kannan). Julien Gonin (FRA) and Caprice de Guinfard (Mylord Carthago x Socrate de Chivre) placed third in 37.87, while Francois Xavier Boudant (FRA) and GFE Eden du Rouet (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) finished fourth in 38.06 – giving the French a great start to the weekend. Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) placed fifth in 38.42 aboard Crack Balou (Balou du Reventon x Chacco-Blue).
