Calido I (Cantus x Coriander, bred by Heini and Matthias Kahler) has passed away at the age of 32, the Maas J. Hell Stallion Station announced on Friday. “We were happy to see and experience this wonderful horse every day. We will all miss him deeply,” Herbert Ulonska and Jasmin Ulonska-Weiss said in a press release from Maas J. Hell Stallion Station – where Calido I spent his entire life.

Calido I has sired numerous horses jumping at top level, such as Ludger Beerbaum's Coupe de Coeur, Marcus Ehning's Calanda, Cian O'Connor's K Club Lady, Denis Nielsen's DSP Cashmoaker and Thibeau Spits' King Van Essene – to mention a few. Three of his offspring took part at the 2008 Olympic Games: Noblesse M with Pius Schwizer (SUI), California with Taizo Sugitani (JPN) and Cajak with Eiken Sato (JPN).
