Philipp Weishaupt wins CSI5*-W 1.50m Helsinki Classics

Saturday at the CSI5*-W event in Helsinki ended with Philipp Weishaupt (GER) winning the 1.50m Helsinki Classics. Riding the 8-year-old mare Call Me Eva (Chacco Blue x Staccato), the German was the quickest of the 37 in this class counting for the Longines Ranking taking home the win with a time of 57,08 seconds.

Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) on the 13-year-old gelding Extra van Essene (Diamant de Semilly x Gotthardsen) took the runner-up position with a time of 58,45 seconds, while Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) on the 11-year-old gelding VDL Groep Quatro (Quaprice Bois Margot x Caletto) placed third with a time of 59,00 seconds. Steve Guerdat (SUI) on the 9-year-old gelding Urzo d'Iso (Number One d'Iso x Viking d'Oria) placed fourth, and the fifth place went to Manuel Fernandez Saro (ESP) on the 12-year-old mare Royalty Des Isles (Zandor Z x Elan de la Cour). 

The first international five-star class of the day, a 1.40m 'Take Your Own Line' presented by PricewaterhouseCoopers Oy went to Richard Howley (IRL). Riding the 12-year-old mare Billy Lemon (Cevin Z x Andretti), the Irish took home the win with a time of 45,05 seconds. Susanna Granroth (FIN) on the 12-year-old mare Baccara (Le Cou Cou x Ramos Z) placed second with a time of 47,31, and Jur Vrieling (NED) on the 8-year-old gelding Quality Fz (Quintender x Eurocommerce Berlin) took the third spot with a time of 50,08 seconds. Rein Pill (EST) on the 10-year-old gelding Alfons Ra (Aromats x False Pass) placed fourth, while the fifth spot went to Victoria Gulliksen (NOR) on the 9-year-old Ballenteskin Watch This (Iroko x Harlequin du Carel).
