Pedro Veniss (BRA) won the 62,000 euro Prize of GEZE GmbH in Stuttgart on Saturday evening. Riding the 12-year-old mare For Felicila (For Pleasure x Espri), Veniss clocked the winning time of 41,79 seconds in round two of the competition.

The 1.55m class over two rounds saw 47 horse-and-rider combinations line up, and only the twelve best were to continue to the second round over a shortened, eight fence track.

”When we first walked the course, we thought it was really difficult,” Veniss said about the first round that counted 13 obstacles and 16 efforts. ”But that just shows the level of the horses and riders here; in the end we had 13 clear rounds.”

Michael Jung (GER) on the 8-year-old mare fischerSolution (Carthino Z) took the runner-up position with a time of 42,06 seconds, while Kevin Staut (FRA) on the 8-year-old gelding Vendome d’Anchat HDC (Diamant de Semilly x Allegreto) had to settle for third place with a time of 42,36 seconds.

Christian Ahlmann (GER) on the 14-year-old stallion Colorit (Coriano x Capitol) placed fourth with a time of 43,23 seconds and Markus Beerbaum (GER) on the 9-year-old mare Charmed (Chacco Blue x Plural) secured the fifth spot with a time of 43,45 seconds.

”I am very happy with my horse, she jumped amazing,” Veniss said about his winning mount For Felicila. ”I started competing with her last year at the Sunshine Tour. She was double clear at Hickstead last summer and part of the winning Nations Cup team there. On top of that, this is one of her biggest wins to date,” he said. ”She will now have two weeks off and then I hope to bring her and Quabri de I’Isle to Geneva in December.”
