At the Mohammed VI Park in El Jadida, it was the young Moroccan rider Samy Colman and Brazilian rider Felipe Amaral that took Saturday's two four-star wins.
The 1.50m Winning Round went to Brazil’s Felipe Amaral. Of the ten riders coming back for the second round, six pairs were clear in the first round while the other four had a time penalty each. The six clear-round riders all doubled it the second round, in which each was faster than the other. Felipe Amaral riding Quinn 33 (Quidam de Revel x Contender) went off with the win in 33.62 seconds, leaving Olivier Perreau (FRA) on GL Events Dolce Deceuninck (Toulon x Cartier vd Heffinck) to second and Elian Baumann (SUI) with Campari Z (Contact vd Heffinck x Platini M) to third.
"Yes, it was a real race today, but my horse is very fast indeed and this course suited him perfectly. There was a long distance to run to jump the last fence and he likes that. This is my first victory with this horse that I have not been riding for a very long time," Amaral commented after his win.
In the 1.40m, 23-year-old Samy Colman celebrated a home win with Cabanero 2 (Concetto x Caretino).
