On the 8th of October, Auction Antwerp offers the unique opportunity to purchase an embryo out of the Butterfly Flip-daughter Elle Flip de Muze Z.

This very special grandson or granddaughter of Malin Baryard-Johnsson’s former top ride Butterfly Flip is expected to be born around 6th June 2017.

Butterfly Flip needs little introduction. With Malin Baryard-Johnsson, she was one of the best horses on the international showjumping circuit. In 2004 Butterfly Flip jumped to Olympic Team Silver for Sweden in Athens, and three years before – in 2001 – she helped take home the Team Silver at the European Championships in Arnhem. Butterfly Flip jumped at no less than five World Cup Finals, finishing third in Las Vegas in 2003. She also jumped at two World Equestrian Games; in 2002 in Jerez and 2006 in Aachen. In 2003, Butterfly Flip and Baryard-Johnsson were named the world's best horse and rider combination.

Butterfly Flip is also the mother of Peder Fredricson’s international Grand Prix horse H&M Little Sparrow.

The mother of this very special embryo is Elle Flip de Muze Z (Elvis Ter Putte x Robin I Z). She is bred at Joris de Brabander’s famous Stal de Muze and is now 4-years-old. Elle Flip de Muze Z looks like a very promising prospect for the future, having been slowly introduced to the show circuit jumping a couple of competitions this year.

Elle Flip de Muze Z looks to have the same mentality and carefulness like her mother Butterfly Flip – as well as being a super mover with a lot of scope.

Offspring out of Butterfly Flip are rare, so the chance to buy an embryo out of one of her daughters is a rather special occasion.

The father of the embryo makes it no less exciting: Thunder van de Zuuthoeve has proved an excellent sire, that sadly passed away too early. Thunder van de Zuuthoeve has sired some of the world’s best horses, such as McLain Ward’s Olympic ride HH Azur as well as Ali Al Rumaihi’s mount at the Rio Games – Gunder. Both horses jumped in the final in Rio.

Other extremely successful Thunder van de Zuuthoeve-offspring include:

Cor van de Wateringhoeve (Karel Cox, BEL), Blue Thunder (Line Raaholt, NOR), Domino (Audrey Coulter, USA), Excenel (Jamal Rahimov, AZE), Seoul (ex. Wout-Jan van der Schans, NED) Eldorado van het Vijverhof (Gregory Wathelet, BEL), Depardieu van’t Kiezelhof (Guy Williams, GBR), Eregast van’t Kiezelhof and Diktator van de Boslandhoeve (Shane Sweetnam, IRL) as well as Domingo (Abdullah Al Sharbatly, KSA).
