Turkish rider Derin Demirsoy will be joining the Dutch-based Carpe Diem Equestrian Team, where he will ride alongside his compatriots Efe Siyahi, Avni Atabek and Omer Karaevli.
“I am very excited to be joining Carpe Diem Equestrian Team,” Demirsoy tells World of Showjumping. “I look forward to contribute towards their goal to become one of the most influential and successful stables in the top sport and in the equestrian industry. I am itching to get to work, and can’t wait to help the team realize their goals as soon as we have overcome the coronavirus pandemic.”
Demirsoy competed at the 2015 and 2017 European Championships for Turkey, and as a junior rider he was Vice Champion at the 2011 Europeans. In 2016, he won the CSI4* World Cup in Doha, in 2017 the CSIO3* Grand Prix in Drammen and in 2018 the CSI3* Grand Prix in Arezzo. Demirsoy is also a graduated member of the Young Riders Academy. “This 25-year-old Turkish rider already has many successes to his name, and we expect many more to follow. Derin will strengthen our group of riders as soon as the equestrian sport & shows are able to resume again,” reads the announcement from Carpe Diem Equestrian Team.
