McLain Ward's ride HH Azur (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Sir Lui vd Zuuthoeve) is the highest ranked horse on 2017's first WBFSH Rolex World Ranking List. The ranking list for breeders of jumping horses count the results from the 1th of April 2016 until the 30th of March 2017. HH Azur is bred by Nathalie Beaufort in Belgium.

Rank two is Lorenzo de Luca's ride Halifax van het Kluizebos (Heartbreaker x Fetiche du Pas), that is also bred in Belgium by Stefaan Delabie. The Montendro x Portland L-mare Mary Lou 194 ridden by Henrik von Eckermann and bred by Hubert Niehaus, has made a huge climb on the ranking and currently sits third. John Whitaker's mount Ornellaia (For Pleasure x Calato), bred in Germany by Harm Thormaehlen, is ranked four and and no. five is Margie Engel-Goldstein's ride Royce (Café Au Lait x Grandilot) that is bred by Gestüt Lewitz.

On the studbook rankings, BWP has taken over the top position with Halifax van het Kluizebos, Gancia de Muze (Malito de Reve x Nimmerdor), Eldorado van het Vijverhof (Thunder van de Zuuthoeve x Omar), Ensor de Litrange LXII (Nabab de Reve x Mr. Blue) and Equita van't Zorgvliet (Cassini I x Darco) as their five best representatives.

KWPN is ranked second with Arrayan (Baloubet du Rouet x Grannus), Aris CMS (BMC Nassau x Amethist), With Wings (Larino x L.Ronald), California (L’Esprit x Libero H) and VDL Groep Zidane N.O.P. (Heartbreaker x Calando I) as their top five horses.

Ornellaia, Cayenne WZ (Claudio x Ramirado), Chiara 222 (Contender x Coronado 3), Chesall Zimequest (Casall x Concerto 4) and Casello (Casall x Carolus I) all put Holsteiner Verband third on the first studbook ranking of the year.
