Penelope Leprevost's Texas (Tornesch 1042 x Robin Z) has been sold to Spain.

Leprevost announced the sale in her social media channels on Tuesday, writing: "Thank you Texas, for these years together and this journey, among other victories the French champion title, which I owe to you. We wish you the best for the rest of your career."

With Leprevost in the saddle, the 13-year-old gelding won the CSI4* 1.55m Dunas de Barbate Grand Prix at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, Spain, two weeks ago. In 2023, the two won the CSI5*-W 1.50m Prize of Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois Basel, the CSI4* 1.50m Prix Carno Avocats in Rouen as well as the CSI4* 1.55m Grand Prix de la Region Normandie at the same venue.

Leprevost took over the ride from Walter Lapertot (FRA) in 2020, who rode the gelding shortly in between Leprevost and Agathe Vacher (FRA) – the latter brought Texas on to the international scene, going from young horse classes to CSI3* level.

Spain's 24-year-old Sira Martinez Cullell will be riding Texas in the future, her trainer Pedro Veniss confirmed to WoSJ. "Sira is a good, talented young rider and we are very excited to have the opportunity to be working with a horse like Texas."
