Wilm Vermeir’s DM Jacqmotte (Toulon x VDL Indoctro, bred by Eric Bongaerts) has been sold, the Belgian rider announced in social media on Tuesday. From 1.20m classes to placing 6th in the CSI5* 1.60m Coupe de Geneve in December 2023 in their last international appearance together, Vermeir took the now 15-year-old gelding from youngster classes to five-star level.

On his official Instagram account, Vermeir wrote: “Last week we said goodbye to Dm Jacqmotte. After 15 years in our stables and always ready to go. He competed in the biggest competitions in the world. Geneva, Calgary, Aachen, Doha, New York, Dinard... Too many to mention. Jacky, we’re going to miss you so much. Hope to see you again soon. And we wish you all the luck in the world with your new rider. Hope I meet another horse like you again!”

During their many years together, Vermeir and DM Jacqmotte recorded countless of top results at venues such as Hickstead, Mannheim, Samorin, Salzburg, Spruce Meadows, Stuttgart, St Tropez, Valkenswaard, Vejer de la Frontera, Verona and Wiesbaden – to mention only a few.
