Abdel Saïd (BEL) and the 16-year-old mare Arpege du Ru (Apache d’Adriers x Quat’sous) won Friday’s CSI5* 1.50m in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. With a time of 54.46, Saïd took the top honours in the first Grand Prix qualifier of the week, a competition counting for the Longines Rankings Group C.
Joe Stockdale (GBR) and Laska JDV (Gaspahr x Namelus R) placed second when the clock stopped on 55.53, while Antonia Pettersson Häggström (SWE) on Komme Vous (Comme Il Faut x Vigo d’Arsouilles) took third in 56.47. David Will (GER) with Xixo Borgia (Big Star x Sandro Boy) and Sophie Hinners (GER) aboard Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (Kannan x Indoctro) followed in fourth and fifth respectively.
