Press release from Major League Show Jumping
Major League Show Jumping's (MLSJ) stage was set at the stunning Otomí Club Hípico as the series returned to Mexico this week. A home-country win was posted by Alberto Sanchez-Cozar (MEX) in the Banorte CSI5* 1.50m riding Catover. The opening-day class saw an international field hailing from 10 different nations.
Cozar piloted a new mount in Catover, a 13-year-old Holsteiner stallion (Catoki x Contact Me), and was the best with fractions to spare in a 10-horse jump-off.
Second-place honors stayed with Mexico and Nicolas Pizarro - member of team Crusaders - aboard Atlantica du Soleil Z, a 10-year-old Zangersheide mare (Atlantus van de Rocheove x Felin Pierreville). Helios rider Karl Cook (USA) rounded out the podium with Kalinka van't Zorgvliet, a 12-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Flipper d'Elle).
Action at MLSJ San Miguel resumes on Friday as the CSI5* Team Competition takes center stage under the evening lights of Otomí Club Hípico. MLSJ continues at Otomí Club Hípico in San Miguel de Allende, Mex, through October 23.
