Edited press release from Spruce Meadows Media
It was another podium-sweeping day for the Irish at the CSI5* Spruce Meadows ‘Continental’, presented by Rolex, on Saturday. Conor Swail (IRL) completed his first five-star victory gallop of the 2025 Spruce Meadows-season aboard the 10-year-old mare One Edition (Tangelo vd Zuuthoeve x Kannan) after taking the top honours in the 1.45m Township Planning + Design Cup.
FEI course designer Peter Grant’s (CAN) track for Saturday’s competition featured 12 obstacles and 15 jumping efforts. Fourteen jumped the clear in the first round and advanced to the jump-off, where Swail and One Edition posted a clear jump-off round with a time of 41.73 seconds – just less than one tenth of a second faster than Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Lightning (Kannan x Animo). Kenny rounded out the podium aboard his mount Diaroubet (Diarado x Baloubet du Rouet) with a time of 42.38 seconds, followed by McKayla Langmeier (USA) and Carlita (Carleone x Bacardi OLD) in fourth, while Elena Haas (USA) and For Coke Z (For Pleasure x Caretano Z) finished fifth.
