It was the second year in a row that the Norwegian talent Pål Flam and Skjerabergs Larkin (Ladiesdream x Centauer Z) won the CSI3* Grand Pix in Drammen. This year the course was technical and big. Especially the triple combination caused a lot of problems and only four riders produced a clear first round.
Flam was joined by another young Norwegian rider in the jump-off, Benedicte Serigstad Endresen, who finally ended fourth with Corlantos (Corland x Cantos). It was Sweden’s U25 rider Alexandra Eriksson and Liss Royal (Lissabon x Royale W) that put the real pressure on Flam with a clear and speedy jump-off. Skjerbergs Larkin has all the capacity in the world, but uses his time in the air. With several inside turns Flam and his 14-year-old gelding were still able to cross the finish-line nearly a second ahead of Eriksson. Harriet Nuttal (GBR) finished third with A Touch Imperious (Touchdown x Cavalier Royale), also on a clean sheet.
Pål Flam is a modest man, but needless to say he was very pleased after the win. “This was our first big show since Gothenburg. I was a bit unsure about our form, but he did it so easy. I am of course super happy with my horse and that we were able to follow up on last year’s win here,” Flam said.
