Bertram Allen was the best from start to finish in Saturday's CSI4*1.50 speed class in Stockholm, and was awarded with a brand new Volkswagen for his efforts.
Going first is never ideal, but Allen used the position to his advantage and put plenty of pressure on the sixteen competitors to come as he rode a blistering fast round on Quiet Easy (Quidam's Rubin x Zapateado) - finishing clear in a time of 60.95 seconds.
None of those to come could catch up with the Irish rider. It wasn't until Ben Maher came in later on with Diva II (Kannan x Berlioz) that the Irish lead seemed under threat, but when Maher crossed the finish line he was still almost a second behind on the time. Third place went to Norway's Geir Gulliksen aboard his son Johan's ride Charleville (Quasimodo Z x Lancelot), who finished clear in 65.19 seconds.
