Press release from Major League Show Jumping
Bliss Heers (USA) jumped to the biggest win of her career on Saturday night, and she did it aboard her heart horse. Saving the very best for last, Heers and Antidote de Mars, a 12-year-old Selle Français stallion (Diamant de Semilly x Jarnac), won the GNP Seguros CSI5* Grand Prix under the brights lights of Club Hípico Otomí in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
From a five-horse jump-off, Heers had only her Helios teammate Karl Cook (USA) to beat, who was sitting on the leading time before she entered the ring. Heers and Antidote took on the challenge and were brilliant. Coming off a MLSJ team victory the night before, Heers and Cook went one-two with Cook piloting Kalinka van't Zorgvliet (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve x Flipper d'Elle)
Also pocketing one of the best results of her career, Canada's Vanessa Mannix rounded out the podium in third on Kingston (Ustinov x Insider).
"I’m very happy to be back with the Major League. I spent all summer abroad and I missed out on a bunch of shows. Major League has just brought everyone together, all the riders. There’s a camaraderie that really didn’t exist before. And it’s just so inspiring. So every day, you know, you’re rooting for your teammates. When you’re positive and you know you have a team behind you that supports you, it changes your whole mentality. You stop thinking ‘what if’ what if? And you start thinking ‘let’s go. I can do it," Heers said after her win.
