Brazilian rider Caio Carvalho Filho was the winner of Friday’s Mantequeras Lorenzana-sponsored CSI4* Grand Prix qualifier at the Sunshine Tour. Carvalho Filho won this 1.50m Longines Ranking class with a spectacular round riding Sun Flower du Theil (Allegreto x Quidam de Revel) to a time of 34.72 seconds in the jump-off, that counted a total of thirteen riders that went clear over the first-round track set by course designer Javier Trenor.

Guy Williams (GBR) also was extremely fast, and took care of the runner-up position on Rouge de Ravel (Ultimo Van Ter Moude x Quouglof Rouge) in 35.51 seconds. Just behind in third was Reed Kessler (USA) on Tradition de La Roque (Kannan x Oberon du Moulin) in 36.28 seconds, and in fourth Torben Köhlbrandt (GER) on Macao (Baloubetd u Rouet x Caridor Z) in 37.99 seconds. Ellen Whitaker (GBR) finished fifth with Arena UK Winston (Waldo van Dungen x Hamilton Tropics).
