Canada's Mario Deslauriers and S&L Quatro van de Meerputhoeve (Jon Pleasure van de Mispelaere x Vancouver d'Auvray) jumped to victory in the CSI5* 1.60m Duncan Ross Grand Prix presented by Rolex, the final five-star competition of the CSI5* Spruce Meadows ‘Continental’, presented by Rolex, on Sunday.

Following a week of Irish domination, Sunday was Canada’s Day, with Calgary’s gal Kara Chad and Igor GPH (Harley VDL x Crawford) coming second in the All Canada Ring finale. The podium was rounded out by Ireland’s Conor Swail aboard Casturano (Castelan 3 x Canturo) in third.

Twenty-five horse-and-rider combinations took on Canadian course designer Peter Grant’s 14 obstacle, 17 jumping effort track, with six qualifying for the jump-off.

“I've been coming to Spruce since I was 14," Deslauriers said. "So make the math, I'm 60 now – it’s a long time. I gained a lot of experience and (there are) a lot of ups and down here, but it's a great facility, the best in the world. We all love to come here and we know we can really make a horse here.”
