Stopping the clock on 36.87 in a jump-off between sixteen horse-and-rider combinations, the Mexican rider took the win ahead of the current world number one, Sweden's Henrik von Eckermann and Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caletto I) in second in 37.86. Spain's Sergio Alvarez Moya and Brazilia DK Z (By Cera d'Ick x Argentinus) followed in third in 38.52, Mexico's Antonio Maurer and Kansas ZSH (Kannan x Calato) in fourth in 38.57 and Germany's Daniel Deusser aboard Gangster v/h Noddevelt (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Careful) in fifth in 38.76.
