Friday’s 1.50m Prize of Firma A. Rawie GmbH und Co.KG at CSI4* Horses & Dreams meets the Royal Kingdom of Jordan in Hagen was won by Belgian rider Francois Mathy Jr.
Mathy Jr. had originally planned to ride a quiet round on Casanova de L' Herse (Ugano Sitte x Kashmir Van Schuttershof) instead of taking the maximum risk in the two-phase class counting for the world ranking, but said: “We got a perfect distance in the second phase, and Casanova felt great so I kept the rhythm and he’s just a very fast horse.”
Turkish rider Derin Demirsoy with Dadjak Ter Puttenen (Toulon x Vanitas) finished second, while third place went to Felix Haßmann (Lienen) and SIG Captain America (Captain Fire x Collin L).
The seven- and eight-year-old horses had their second appearance in Hagen on Friday morning. The win went to Belgian rider Constant van Paesschen with Kid Pleasure d’Asschaut, an eight-year-old son by For Pleasure x Nonstop. Penelope Leprevost (FRA) and Quintair (Quintero x Con Air) took second place, followed by Pius Schwizer (SUI) with Avenir d’Aiguilly (Vancouver D M L x Nonstop).
