It was German domination in the CSI3* Löwen Classic Grand Prix in Braunschweig, with the home riders covering the top sixteen.

However, only two of them went double clear over the 1.55m Grand Prix track: Christian Kukuk with Cordess 2 (Clinton x Heartbreaker) that was five seconds faster than runner-up Dirk Klaproth with Vasko 20 (Ludwig von Bayern x Continue). Third place went to Jasper Kools with Chatto 4 (Chacco-Blue x Alexis Z) after having four faults in the jump-off.

The fasters four-faulters from the first round were Felix Hassmann with Cayenne WZ (Claudio x Ramirado) and Friso Bormann with Crazy Cato (Calido I x Crazy Cocktail) who finished fourth and fifth respectively.
