Ireland's Daniel Coyle and Ivory ICS won Friday's CSI5* 1.55m The Mustangs at Spruce Meadows 'Continental'. Entries looked to challenge FEI course designer Marina Azevedo’s 550m track that featured 12 obstacles, including the open water jump.

Nine entries successfully navigated the first-round track clearing all the jumping efforts under the time allowed of 83s. Daniel Coyle gave himself two chances at a first place finish but it was aboard Ivory ICS (Falaise de Muze x Ukato) that he locked down the victory. Posting a jump-off ride in a time of 45.06s he would not be caught. Adrienne Sternlicht (USA) and Faquitol-S (Verdi TN x Caolus II) followed as runners-up with a time of 45.31, while Kent Farrington (USA) and Landon (Cimilfo Plus Z x Quadrillo) took third after stopping the clock at 48.76.

Santiago Lambre (BRA) and Chacco-Blue II (Chacco-Blue x Cincaba Rouge) finished fourth, and Nayel Nassar (EGY) fifth aboard Igor van de Wittemoere (Cooper vd Heffinck x Orlando).
